About BBC Planet Earth Series

Filmed over five years and produced by Alastair Fothergill and his team, who also produced The Blue Planet in 2001, Planet Earth is an eleven episode mini series that explores Earth's natural habitats and the creatures, flora, and fauna found therein.

The remarkably groundbreaking nature documentary series, the first of its kind to be filmed entirely in high definition format, originally aired in the UK in March and December of 2006, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, narrator of the successful Blue Planet and Life of Mammals series.

The series is available in HD DVD and Blu-ray formats, in addition to the original format.
